THE
LOVED ONES-
Keep Your Heart (Site)
There is a new trio of rock royalty emerging from streets of
Philadelphia
,
PA.
The Loved Ones are already a mainstay in the punk rock community, and with
the release of their latest album Keep
In Your Heart, that role will definitely be solidified. This great
album is powered by the strong vocals/guitar of lead singer Dave Hause,
the hard hitting drums of Mike Sneeringer , and the mellow bass of Michael
“Spider” Cotterman. These
three are a melting pot of bands of the past and present, including the
likes of Green Day, Trapt, and
Fall Out Boy. My favorite track, “Sickening,” is one of the more
mellow songs on the album and reminds me so much of “Wake Me Up When
September Ends” by Green Day. It really focuses on the lyrics, and
simple instrumentals, which adds to its laid back delivery. The Loved Ones
have great range, and this album shows it. They don’t stick to one
specific formula. They have something on here for every mood, or occasion.
If you are a fan of diversity, and the element of surprise, this would be
a worthwhile investment to add to your CD collection. - Krystal Clark
