A
NEW FOUND GLORY -
Nothing Gold Can Stay (Drive-Thru
Records) You could buy this release by ANFG or you could just lock
your front door, put a bag over your head, flip on the mainstream rock
station and listen attentively for 45 minutes. It's pretty much an
either/or situation and, since you'd probably be forking over at least ten
or twelve bucks for the CD, you may as well enjoy some quality isolation
time at home instead. However, if you just can't get enough of Lit,
Blink-182, et. al. then, by all means give ANFG a listen -- I'm sure
that's what they're banking on. I don't like this band at all and the CD
title readily invites ridicule so, um..."Nothing Gold Can Stay"
outside on the porch in the snow, as far away as possible from my stereo.
There -- feel free to come up with your own. It's infinitely more amusing
than listening to the music. - Chris Wissmuller
A NEW FOUND GLORY – From The Screen to Your Stereo (Drive-Thru
Records) This rock bands covers seven movie themes, but add their own
style of rock to them. The music is a bit too pop rock sounding for me,
but they are a tight-knit rock group. Songs covered include; “That Thing
You Do,” “The Glory of Love,” “(Everything I Do) I Do For You,”
and more. I was most impressed with the guitar work.- Denis Sheehan
