STAR
TREK: VOYAGER: Complete First Season. Five
DVD set containing the 15 original first season broadcast episodes and
many extras. Only 75,000 light years away from Earth, Captain Janeway and
her USS Voyager crew try their best to get back home. Of course, all sorts
of stuff happen along the way.
Debuting
in 1995 and running an impressive six years, I was never much of a fan of
this Star Trek storyline. However, and as what usually happens with me, as
I sat down watching this box set, I found myself more interested in
Voyager this time around. The picture and sound (5.1
Surround) is stunning, and even the packaging screams Sci-fi. Disc five is
made up of nine featurettes (one gives you a look at the original actress
tabbed to play Janeway, Genevieve Bujold) and a photo gallery. Look, if
you like Star Trek and/or, sci-fi, you’ll dig this set. Admittedly, I
haven’t finished watching all of season one yet, but I sho’ will, and
I’ll watch season two. To infinity and beyond…wait, that’s from
something else. – Denis Sheehan
STAR TREK: VOYAGER: Complete Second Season.
Seven DVD set containing the 26 original second season broadcast
episodes and many extras. Read the above for storyline.
Like
season one, the entire packaging of this DVD set is phenomenal. Sound,
picture, and packaging are all amazing. Although I haven’t finished this
set, I have noticed a bit of a difference from season one in the action
department. Great sophomore season! Along with the 26 episodes, this set
includes a bevy of entertaining extras: many interviews with the cast and
crew, a closer look at actor Tim Russ (Tuvok), a cool “Day in the Life
Of Ethan Phillips,” a visual effects featurette, and a discussion with The
Star Trek science consultant , Andre
Bormanis, about astronomical
phenomena and other scientific theories seen on Voyager. God, now I have
to watch season three….- Denis Sheehan
STAR TREK: VOYAGER: Complete Third Season.
Seven DVD set containing the 26 original third season broadcast
episodes and many extras. Read Season One plot summery for storyline.
Extras
include various cast/crew interviews covering many topics, a “Day in the
Life of Roxanne Dawson” featurette covering her directing an episode of
Star Trek:
Enterprise
, look at visual effects, etc. The 26 episodes are great and look
beautiful, The extras are good and will satisfy hardcore Voyager fans, but
after three season, the numerous interviews are getting a bit tired.
However, one wouldn’t buy these sets for the extras, so who cares? –
Denis Sheehan
